Why Potter and Clay?

From Jordan

When we moved to Haiti, we had no idea what we would be doing. Moving was hard and lonely, and actually living in Haiti for the first time stripped us of a lot of our previous identities. Before we had jobs with strict and clear expectations, now we were in a foreign country, unsure of what we would be doing every day. Looking back, that blankness and lack of identity was exactly where the Lord wanted us.

Jeremiah 18:4 says, “But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seen best to him.”

Although there have been times of doubt and struggle, we know that God, our Potter, is using Haiti and its people to shape both of us as seen best to Him. This life is turning out to be full of more love, joy, and pain than we ever could have predicted, but it is also more beautiful than we ever would have guessed.
